It takes you to some of the most ancient temples and palaces of the south. It also gives you an idea of the wildlife in the south and finally ends on the white sunbathed beaches of Goa.

Day 01 Departure from Home Country

Leave from your home country.

Day 02 Chennai (Madras)

On arrival at Madras transfer to hotel and spend the night at Chennai.

Day 03 Mahabalipuram & Kanchipuram

In the morning leave for Kanchipuram (64kms from Chennai (Madras)), this was the capital of the Pallava dynasty and has about 1000 temples and many of them are in use to this day. Some important temples include Ekambaswara, Kailasanatha, Sri Kamakshi and Varadarajaswamy. Knachipuram is well known for its silks. The travel to the city of Mahabalipuram is famous for its rock cut temples and the Seashore temple these are excellent examples of Dravidian Style of Architecture. In the evening transfer to the railway station to board the night train to Trichy. Spend the night on the train.

Day 04 Trichy

On arrival in the morning transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon take a tour of Trichy, visit Lord Robert Clive’s house and visit the Rock Fort Temple that has 434 steps to the Lord Ganapathy temple on the top and you can climb further to the Shiva temple. Spend the night at Trichy.

Day 05 Madurai

Drive to Madurai and on the way visit Tanjore. Visit the Brihadeeshwara temple, which is an example of the excellent Chola architecture. Tanjore is famous for its bronzes and handicrafts as well. Spend the night at Madurai.

Day 06 Madurai

In the morning visit the famous Meenakshi Temple, Tirumala Nayak Palace, the Alagar Hills and Tirupara Kundran Rock temple. The afternoon is at your leisure. Spend the night at the Madurai.

Day 07 Periyar

In the morning drive to Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. Visit the sanctuary and take a ride on the Periyar Lake and observe the wildlife. Spend the night in Periyar.

Day 08 Kochi (Cochin)

In the morning drive to Cochin. On arrival transfer to the hotel and spend the night in Kochi.

Day 09 Kochi

In the morning take a sightseeing tour of the city. Visit the Jewish Synagogue, Portuguese Churches, Dutch Palace and the Chinese Fishing Nets etc. The afternoon is at your leisure. Spend the night at Kochi.

Day 10 Bangalore

Catch the morning flight to Bangalore. On arrival drive straight to Mysore. Spend the night at Mysore.

Day 11 Mysore

Take a city tour of Mysore. Visit the Mysore Palace, Art Gallery, and Chamundi Hills and on the way back from these hills visit Nandi Bull. The afternoon is at your leisure. Overnight stay at Mysore.

Day 12 Belur/Halebid

Visit the famous temples of Belur and Halebid built by the Hoysala dynasty. The Chennakesava temple in Belur and Hoysaleswara temple at Halebid are exquisite examples of Hoysala architecture. On the way back visit Sravanabelagola that has a monolith of Lord Gomateshwara, which is visible from a distance of 25kms.

Day 13 Hospet/Hampi

In the morning drive to Hospet and visit Hampi. Hampi was the capital of the famous Vijayanagar Empire that was well known world over for its palaces, temples and sculptures. This city was burnt down by the Sultanates of the South. Visit the remains of the Virupaksha temple, Vittala temple and Hazara Rama temple, the huge and imposing sculptures of Ganesha and Narasimha, the Queen’s Bath, Ramachandra temple and Lotus Mahal.

Day 14 Badami

In the morning drive to Badami, on the way stop at Aihole and Pattadakal. Aihole is heart of the stone temple architecture and is the most important center of the Dravidian School of Architecture. There are about 70 temples here the oldest is the Lad Khan built in the 5th century AD. The Ravanaphadi Cave has some fine carvings. Pattadakal reached its zenith during the reign of the Chalukya kings between the 7th-9th centuries. Visit the Sanghameswara temple and the Mallikarjuna Temple, Virupaksha temple and Papanatha temple.

Day 15 Badami

In the morning visit Badami. Badami is also known as Vatapi has richly carved Hindu and Jain temples made out of sand stone. Visit the Fort on top of the hill and the Malegitti Shivalaya on top of another hill.

Day 16 Goa

In the morning drive to Goa. On arrival transfer to hotel. The rest of the day is at your leisure.

Day 17 Goa

Day is at your leisure.

Day 18 Goa

Day is at your leisure.

Day 19 Departure

Transfer to airport to board your flight for onward journey.
